Over a career spanning more than 20 years, Marnie has built a reputation for strength in business development, sales, key stakeholder and client management. As State Director, Fairfax Media, she is a successful leader with expertise in digital and print platforms. Marnie has a proven track record in consistently delivering and exceeding commercial results.

Having commenced her career as a Media Planner/Buyer, Marnie McKeown has developed into a very experienced commercial leader. Starting in 1998, Marnie worked her way through the ranks to become Agency & Magazine Sales Manager at West Australian Newspapers.

Marnie joined Fairfax Media in 2005 as State Sales Manager across print, before moving across to Fairfax Digital in 2008 as the inaugural State Sales Manager of the company’s digital network in WA – including the launch of WAtoday.com.au Marnie has continued to grow her skills and experience within Fairfax Media over the past 10 years to her current role as State Director, WA.

Her leadership style is genuine, consultative, and pro-active; Marnie is recognised as cultivating team members who are consistently strong performers. She believes it is imperative to understand that people need to be led and managed differently, according to their own styles and skill sets.

Marnie’s dedication towards cultivating a strong client and stakeholder network have been instrumental to her success; and was acknowledged by Fairfax Media as the recipient of the ‘Inaugural Woman of Influence Awards’ in the “Leadership” category from amongst 8,000+ staff across Australia and New Zealand.

Marnie has also been involved in the Oasis Committee – an advertising based charity – for 10 years. During this time she has represented Fairfax Media and helped raise over $1,000,000 in funds for the Salvation Army’s Crossroads West Project.
