Re.Discover Bunbury

In News by Mike Dunn

Re.Discover is an annual street art festival created to showcase Australian & International artists through the painting & exhibiting
of exterior murals located in the streets of the Bunbury’s CBD.
Following the incredible response from Re.Discover 2014 & 2015 we are very excited to expand & commission a diverse & talented
group of local, national & international artists to the streets of Bunbury’s CBD in January 2016.

THE VISION FOR THE RE.DISCOVER FESTIVAL IN BUNBURY’S CBD IS TO :
> Provide opportunity for a regional city to engage with established & celebrated Australian & International artists.
> Develop the reputation of Bunbury’s CBD as a destination rather than a transit location & in turn increasing tourism.
> Renew foot trac along Bunbury’s CBD streets & in turn generating more customers for local business.
> Strengthen Bunbury’s identity and sense of place – just as individuals have an identity so too do communities.
> Activate the ‘heart of the city’ to build on the CBD’s rich cultural history.
large scale murals will be created on exterior CBD building walls that will provide both locals & visitors alike a unique experience
to celebrate art on a collaborative scale never seen before in the South West of Western Australia. e murals will be
dispersed through out the CBD to encourage everyone to walk the length & width of Bunbury’s beautiful CBD & in turn support
local businesses through increased foot trac. Free walking tour maps will be available from a number of our supporting CBD
based businesses for people’s enjoyment.
